Wow okay.. so it's been about year since I've last posted ahahaha... OTL
So just a quick update:
1. I basically failed my HSC with an atar of 49 or something (LOL SO MUCH FOR 75) which was quite surprising for everyone and myself seeing that all my subjects i achieved 70~80s aha wow i know, weird (its got to do with the subjects you did and how their scaling works)
2. Although I basically failed, I was accepted into university for the subject i wanted to do! (Though I am only doing for half a year and if I pass all the units, i will get transferred into the actual course - I actually went through a lot of effort to actually get accepted since my ATAR was so low, i had to send them documents of my school progress AND a resume).
I am doing primary teaching which is a very iffy subject since A LOT of people, lately, have been commenting on why the ATAR for teaching is so low when teachers should be smart enough to teach children. Okay, now i agree that yes, teachers should have some knowledge obviously if they want to raise the children of the future however they should also take into consideration WHY people don't want to do teaching (ATAR is based on how many people actually pick to do the course, the more people who want to do the course, the higher the ATAR). The reason why others probably don't want to do teaching is likely based on their experience at school or also the fact that they are sick of school, so why do teaching? Plus, what do they know about doing education in university? Have they done the course? Do they understand what is taught? Seriously, learning education in university is like school all over again but compressed, so even people with little knowledge on a subject they didn't study in school would learn it at university. For example, I chose not to do science for senior high school and when i went to university, i started science all over again from step 1 and it was covered very clearly. It made me think about how much time i wasted in high school all those 4 years of learning science was compressed into 2 lessons which were much easier to understand. I also have a friend, who is doing engineering or something, who only did 2 units of maths in high school but once he started university, he basically learnt 4 unit maths in a month - - Although i understand that people have opinions and that there is no right or wrong, seriously, people be judging too much.
So that's my rant finished aha
Last year's resolution basically failed aha. I didn't grow much.. I'm still stuck on 160s, in fact, I think I shrunk?
This year though, I have a feeling it's going to be much better than last year. Horoscopically (is that even a word?), last year was the year of the dragon, which would theoretically be the sh*tiest year for me but this year is the year of the snake! I've already processed quite a few changes and things are actually going okay at the moment (minus unpredictable events). A lot of exciting things have happened (ie. making into university). I also went to Hong Kong for a week which was good experience seeing that I want to become a teacher internationally and go around travelling to help wildlife places and do some humanitarian services. I received a lot of encouragement from the sweet people of Hong Kong who really recommended me to do teaching in Asia specifically. There's so much to talk about Hong Kong and its beautiful people but maybe I'll save that for another time... if there is aha.
So yeah, that's basically it for now. I'm planning to go to Japan for a short trip during university breaks this year (hopefully, fingers crossed) but other than that I still have a long list of countries to travel to OTL
Thanks for reading and take care! :)
